General Motors

The traverse system for General Motors was installed in Warren, Michigan, USA in 2016.
It is installed inside the Aero Lab’s reduced scale wind tunnel and consists of two systems sharing the main beam:

· Probe traverse

· Model installer

The Probe Traverse is able to position a probe in the test section.

The Model Installer is able to pick up a model from a cart, move it to the centre of the balance, lower it down on fix points and visa versa. The Model Installer is stored out of the wind flow for testing.
