The power electronics for the traverse system is built into a rack.
Inside the rack, the servo motor drives are mounted. Also the Motion Control PC is normally mounted here. This PC runs Beckhoff PLC and CNC tasks in a real-time environment and it is the master in the EtherCat communication, handling all servo drives, I/O terminals and safety electronics.
The I/O terminals can be configured for a wide variety of signals like digital I/O, Analog I/O and various communication interfaces.
For small traverse systems, a mini rack is used for the power and control electronics, including the I/O terminals and the safety electronics.
