Stable positioning of the measurement probe is obviously of decisive importance in all wind-tunnel research. Without it, accurate results are difficult to achieve. Even in the wake of the object beeing tested the stability has to be achieved.
The high stability is based on a optimised distribution of mass and stiffness in the construction. This optimisation is done by the use of a detailed Finite Element model of the entire traverse construction. Also the support stiffness from the building has to be taken into account.
